Bands with Weird Names from Around the World.

There are tons of bands from all over the world. Some of which have some “normal” names, while others I’m not so sure about (although I may listen to some them religiously).
Check out these bands with strange names from around the globe:
(I hooked it up with a playlist to sample for the read)
1) Test Icicles – Ahhhhh. Almost gotcha. Honestly, I think it’s pretty clever. This short-lived dance-punk-post-hardcore band from England created some goodness in their 2 years together.
2) Sloppy Meateaters – these kids from Rome, Georgia hit it on the dot. Terrible name with music to match. Although, some of the stuff makes me laugh.
3) The Sound of Animals Fighting – an experimental-progressive rock supergroup made up of members of many bands. Each member takes on the name of an animal (i.e. Nightingale, Walrus, Skunk, etc.) Stuff is pretty nuts.
4) Hot Chip – originating from London, England, this electropop band is pretty much guaranteed to make you pants-dance. Spaz, they’re Grammy-nominated.
5) Maximum the Hormone – straight out of Hachiōji, Tokyo, this Japanese post-hardcore/metalcore band is nuts. It almost sounds like English, but it’s not. Lolz.
6) !!! – pronounced chk chk chk. Another dance-punk band for the list. This one comes from Sacramento, California. Their song “Myth Takes” makes me feel like I’m in a movie.
7) The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus – this alt-rock band from Middleburg, Florida was made popular by their hit “Facedown.” WTF is this apparatus they speak of?
8) Wolfmother – a hard rock band from Erskineville, Sydney. These guys got popular in the states; so popular they are even on the game Rock Band.
Now, I do realize that there are bands out there that have really weird names, but I could not possibly put them on a play list if my life depended on it.
On a side note: If you like seeing bands for free in sweet cities, head to statravel.com/music & enter win air tickets, hotel, concert tickets and more for you and a friend
Rock it!

Hmmm…food for thought. If I were to regularly listen to Maximum the Hormone, I would or possibly could become Wolfmother.
No idea where you come up with this stuff, but you must have some sleepless nights while all that creativity rolls around in your brain.

Not gonna lie, I am a pretty big fan of hot chip :) but test icicles def takes the cake for weirdest name. Well played.
